Federal Agencies Give GPO High Customer Satisfaction Score

10/01/24  U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO)’s biennial customer services survey of more than 500 Federal agency customers showed abundantly positive customer satisfaction ratings. The average satisfaction rating across GPO procurement contracts, programs, and services was 96 percent. Respondents reported the highest satisfaction ratings with staff professionalism, the value of GPO products and services, and staff technical knowledge and expertise.


GPO Controller Bill Grennon Retires

09/30/24  GPO has seen three generations of Grennons since 1936. GPO Controller William (Bill) Grennon III’s grandfather, mother, and father all retired from GPO.


GPO-DOD Team Wins 2024 Service to the Citizen Award

09/12/24  U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO), alongside the Department of Defense (DoD), has won a 2024 Service to the Citizen Award for making it easier for active, retired, and disabled Uniformed Service members and their families to renew their ID cards.


Four Libraries Partner with GPO to Preserve Government Documents

08/01/24  Libraries at Colgate University and the University of Idaho have signed Memorandums of Agreement with the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) to become Preservation Stewards, and libraries at the Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge and Colorado School of Mines have expanded their partnerships with GPO.


GPO Director Names Managing Director Security and Intelligent Documents

07/25/24  U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) Director Hugh Nathanial Halpern has named David (Dave) Spiers as Managing Director, Security and Intelligent Documents (SID). In this capacity, Spiers will lead the GPO business unit that designs, prints, personalizes, and delivers Secure Federal Credentials for many Government Agencies, which includes the U.S. passport for the U.S. Department of State. David (Dave) Ford previously led SID and will continue to support the business unit by managing SID budgets and finances.


Retired Army Colonel Becomes GPO Deputy Director

07/18/24  U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) Director Hugh Nathanial Halpern has named Brian Pearl as the Agency’s Deputy Director. In this role, Pearl will serve in the Agency’s second highest-ranking position as its Chief Operating Officer. In addition to other responsibilities, Pearl will oversee GPO’s operations division, which includes Plant Operations, Security and Intelligent Documents, Official Journals of Government, and Customer Services. These business units are responsible for GPO’s most important products including the U.S. passport, Congressional Record, Federal Register, White House print materials, secure Federal credentials, and other congressional and executive branch products and services.
