David Ford leads Security & Intelligent Documents (SID), the GPO business unit that designs, prints, personalizes and delivers Secure Federal Credentials for many Government Agencies, which includes the U.S. passport for the State Department. Other credentials designed and produced in Ford’s operation include the Trusted Traveler Cards for Customs and Border Protection, the Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) for Transportation Security Administration, the Border Crossing Card (BCC) for the State Department’s Consular Affairs, and other secure credentials for the Department of Defense, the Veterans Administration, and for various Federal law enforcement agencies.
Biography
Ford began his career at GPO as a member of the Finance Office in 2004 and then as SID’s Operations Manager in 2008. He was part of the GPO team that worked with the State Department to bring the electronic Passport from concept to reality and has more recently been an integral part of producing the Next Generation Passport.
Prior to joining GPO, Ford spent 21 years in the private sector where he served in a variety of finance and operation management positions.
Ford received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from University of North Carolina, Charlotte and went on to earn a Master’s in Business Administration from Pfeiffer University.
