LORNA E. BAPTISTE-JONES

Chief Acquisition Officer


Lorna E. Baptiste-Jones is the Chief Acquisition Officer for the Government Publishing Office (GPO). As Chief Acquisition Officer, Baptiste-Jones is responsible for the planning and procuring of commodities and services for the Agency. She also provides leadership for her staff, monitors and ensures regulatory compliance, reviews documents, and establishes procurement procedures. Additionally, Baptiste-Jones serves as the business adviser to the GPO Director and other senior management staff.

Biography

Baptiste-Jones brings three decades of Acquisition experience to her current position at GPO. Prior to joining GPO in 2016, she was the Director of Procurement at the Federal Election Commission. Baptiste-Jones also served at the Department of Defense. While at the Department of Defense, Baptiste-Jones was Branch Chief, Contracting Officer, Procurement Analyst, and Assistant Director of the Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) for the Army. She retired from Active Duty military service after spending 20 years in the U.S. Army.

Baptiste-Jones graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hawaii Pacific University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Studies. She also holds degrees from Murray State University, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude, with a Masters Degree in Human Development and Leadership and earned an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies.
